Our Story

I started this journey completely by accident — and because of one very special dog.

It All Started with Brindie

I had a small backyard farm and a handful of quails. When the eggs cracked or broke, I didn't want to waste them, so I started feeding them to my older dog, Brindie. She had always struggled with dry skin and allergies, and I had tried everything. But after a while, I started noticing something: she was clearing up.

I kept wondering — what am I doing differently?

Someone asked me, "Are you feeding her quail eggs?" I said yes. They told me I may have found a protein her body naturally wanted and needed — that she could even have a chicken allergy.

So I started giving them to her regularly. The difference was incredible. Her skin improved, her energy changed, and overall she just seemed healthier and happier.

Finding a Purpose for the Whole Animal

That same person then asked if I had ever tried feeding her the quail meat, or using other parts as treats. I said no… but I could.

I've always believed that if I process an animal, I should respect it by using the whole animal. So I found a purpose for every part of the quail — and that's when I started dehydrating treats and feeding raw quail to Brindie.

Her old, tired dog attitude suddenly turned back into puppy-like energy. The moment I saw her jumping up and down, excited over a dehydrated quail wing, I was honestly shocked. She absolutely loved it — and before long, other people wanted them for their dogs too.

That was the true start of my business.

One Small Farm Helping Another

What began as an accident has grown into something I never could have imagined. Today, I work with local farms in New Hampshire and Vermont, supporting small businesses while sourcing only the best, most natural ingredients for your pets. One small farm helping another small farm.

Every product we offer is crafted in small batches in Alstead, NH — with no fillers and no shortcuts. Just 100% natural, sustainably sourced ingredients, made with the same care I put into feeding Brindie. (Now Nimbus & Silas too)
